Nigel Spiteri is a procurement leader with nearly three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, almost all of it built within Malta's premier hotel brands. His career began in Food & Beverage operations at the Westin and Radisson — an early grounding on the operational floor that continues to shape how he approaches procurement today.

He currently serves as Cluster Procurement Manager for Hilton Malta and DoubleTree by Hilton Malta, a role he has held since 2023, following seven years as the property's Procurement Manager. On the procurement side, his path began at InterContinental Malta as a Receiving Clerk in 2002, progressing through Cost Controller at Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Purchasing & Cost Control Manager at InterContinental Malta, with a stint in FMCG procurement at The General Soft Drinks Co. along the way.

Across every role, his focus has stayed consistent: strategic sourcing, cost control, and building procurement systems — including SAP and Materials Control implementation, and HACCP compliance — that hold up under the operational demands of hospitality projects. He holds a MSc. in Management (Project Management) and a Diploma in Accountancy from ACCA, pairing hands-on operational expertise with formal training in both finance and project delivery.

Beyond the day-to-day of running procurement operations, Nigel writes on LinkedIn about the realities of procurement leadership — sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, and the decisions that shape a hospitality business from the back of house — alongside broader reflections on leadership and authenticity drawn from managing teams in the industry.
